Just added 50 or so songs to the current playlist making it almost 500 songs or about 30 hours of music.
I’m always looking for songs by artists underrepresented in your basic soft rock/yacht rock/AOR best of lists, beyond the divorced-dad stereotype. This includes singers and songwriters who are not from America or England, who aren’t white or male, or who had one amazing album that fell through the cracks. The genre on this station bleeds into adjacent categories sometimes, like disco & r&b, or the occasional ballad-ish song, although I try to keep those to a minimum. ‘Easy Listening’ is a good descriptor. Easy listening for walking your dog in the neighborhood at night. The only soft rock songs you wont find here are the ones i’m truly sick of, and the ones where old men sing to underage women. Most of the creep factor in this genre has been avoided here at WRWR. The majority of the music on this station revolves around the year 1979, either just before or just after. This happens to be the year I was born. The vibes of 1979 set in my bones and now this is still me favorite era of music to listen to.
